Preparing For the Future:
What Oakville residents can expect in terms of
Climate Change, Energy Shortages & our Watershed’s Health

Earth Day Canada will launch their EcoAction Teams Program in Oakville by teaming up with Oakvillegreen Conservation Association, a group well known for its advocacy on behalf of a healthy and sustainable community. Oakvillegreen president Liz Benneian will speak about how climate change will affect our area and what we can do to make a difference. Dr. Jack Santa-Barbara, a professor from MacMaster University who recently organized a Peak Oil conference in Washington, DC, will discuss upcoming energy shortages and price increases and what we can do now to prepare for it and Dr. Pedro Pereyra will talk about the health of our local waterways. A question period will follow the speakers’ presentations.
